CHARLESTON COUNTY, S.C. (WCIV) — A Greenville man accused of driving onto a playground and hitting two children and an adult is being held without bond on three counts of attempted murder, authorities confirmed.

Justin Collin Adams, 36, appeared in court Thursday where he was denied bond on the attempted murder charges. He was granted a $100,000 surety bond for a separate first-degree assault and battery charge.

According to the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office, Adams allegedly used his car as a weapon, intentionally driving onto an active playground on Sullivan’s Island, where he struck multiple people, including children and a teacher.

Authorities said one child and the adult were hospitalized; the child has since been discharged, while the adult remains hospitalized. A second child was treated for minor injuries at the scene and released.

The motive for the attack has not been made public, and the investigation is ongoing.
