SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Wilfrey Carrasquillo, 39, was extradited from Boston and arraigned in Syracuse City Court on charges related to the fatal shooting of 24-year-old Alberto Cirino on November 5, 2023.

Carrasquillo has been charged with second-degree murder and criminal possession of a weapon for allegedly shooting Cirino. The incident occurred just after 9:00 a.m. on November 5, when Syracuse Police responded to a report of a shooting at the Century Linen parking lot on the 300 block of West Taylor Street. Officers found Cirino with gunshot wounds to his chest, and he was transported to Upstate University Hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

Investigators reviewed city surveillance footage and identified Carrasquillo as the suspect. On November 8, he was apprehended by the Boston Police Department. Carrasquillo waived extradition and was brought back to Syracuse, where he has pleaded not guilty to the charges. He is currently being held without bond.
