In a serious incident in Teekri village under Nagla Singhi Police Station, Firozabad, a man was arrested on Sunday night following the killing of former village head Arvind Yadav (55) and his son Nitin Yadav (27). The victims were attacked while attempting to plough their field amidst a 15-year-old land dispute.
The conflict escalated when Arvind and Nitin arrived with tractors to cultivate 14 bighas of land near Prempur village, which Arvind had legally purchased in 2009 from Sahib Singh Yadav. The accused, including Hubballal Yadav and Kamal Yadav, opposed the tilling and confronted the pair with sharp agricultural tools, resulting in fatal injuries.
Despite prior threats, Arvind and his family received possession of the disputed land with local administration support on May 20. The attack occurred during their first cultivation attempt. Police registered a case under Sections 103(1), 191(2), and 190 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita against multiple accused, including Hubballal, Kamal, Bhola alias Mohanveer, and others.
Following a police encounter, Bhola alias Mohanveer was arrested with a country-made pistol and ammunition. Investigations continue with three police teams actively pursuing other suspects. Senior police officials confirmed the preservation of evidence and ongoing witness statements as part of the inquiry.
