FRANKLIN COUNTY, VA (BTW21) — A Union Hall man died in a fatal single-vehicle crash that occurred Saturday morning, May 31, 2025, in Franklin County, according to the Virginia State Police.
Authorities say the crash happened at approximately 8:40 a.m. on Major Holland Road, about two-tenths of a mile north of Moonlight Cove.
A 2007 Ford F-350 traveling northbound reportedly ran off the right side of the road, struck multiple trees, and overturned.
The driver, Malcolm Randal Johnson, 64, was not wearing a seatbelt and was pronounced dead at the scene.
No other vehicles or individuals were involved in the crash.
The Virginia State Police continues to investigate the cause of the incident.
