LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) – A second suspect has been arrested in connection to a brutal assault outside Malone’s at the Paddock Shops in east Louisville, which left three people injured.
Malakhi Scott Weathers-Parker, 19, of Crestwood, was taken into custody following an investigation by Louisville Metro Police. His alleged accomplice, Seth Jones, 19, of Prospect, was previously arrested and charged.
Incident Details
The attack occurred on March 8 when a group of diners outside Malone’s exchanged words with another group taking photos. According to police reports, Weathers-Parker, Jones, and a juvenile perceived the comment “say cheese” as disrespectful.
The suspects initially left the scene but later returned, allegedly searching through nearby restaurants before confronting the victims in the parking lot.
A violent fight ensued, with one victim beaten with their own metal baton, another choked unconscious, and a third suffering severe bruising. One victim sustained a concussion, skull fractures, and a brain bleed.
Charges & Court Appearances
Weathers-Parker faces charges of first-degree strangulation, fourth-degree assault, and unlawful transaction with a minor. He is set to be arraigned on March 25.
Jones, who remains in custody on a $20,000 bond, faces three counts of assault and unlawful transaction with a minor. His next court appearance is scheduled for March 27.
Police confirmed that the attack was witnessed and captured on surveillance cameras, aiding in the suspects’ identification and arrests.
