CLINTON, S.C. (WHNS/Gray News) — The investigation into the death of 18-year-old MyAngel Walker has led to the arrests of two individuals in connection with her murder.
Walker’s family reported her missing to the Laurens Police Department on Thursday after she didn’t show up for work, which was unusual. Investigators soon deemed her disappearance suspicious, and the search expanded into Newberry and Greenwood counties.
By Friday, Walker’s body was found in a vehicle on McKenzie Road in Greenwood County. Authorities have arrested 19-year-olds Malachi Pressley and Taylor Kinard in connection with the case.
Police say Pressley shot Walker on Wednesday night, and Kinard assisted him in disposing of her body. Pressley has been charged with murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime, while Kinard is charged with accessory after the fact.
Both were denied bond during a Saturday court hearing.
Walker’s mother, Sade Woodruff, revealed that Pressley was her daughter’s on-and-off-again boyfriend, urging others in domestic disputes to get away if possible. Walker, who graduated high school earlier this year, had dreams of becoming a nurse.
The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division is helping with the ongoing investigation.
