Major Drug Bust in Martinsville, VA: Arrests Made, Cocaine Seized

Over 1.3 kg of cocaine, firearms, and cash seized in operation

A major drug bust took place in Martinsville, Virginia, on February 18, 2025, after the Martinsville Police Department’s Special Investigations Unit, with the help of a Special Agent from the Virginia State Police, executed search warrants at two locations in the city. The investigation targeted illegal cocaine distribution carried out by residents working in collaboration.

Simultaneous raids occurred at two properties: an apartment located at 1055 Rives Road and a residence at 1705 Spruce Street Extension. The Martinsville Police SWAT Team conducted the raid at the Rives Road apartment, while the Henry County Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team raided the Spruce Street Extension home.

Law enforcement officials seized over 1.3 kilograms of cocaine, three firearms, and more than $6,000 in cash during the operation, underscoring the scale of the drug operation taking place within the community.

As a result of the bust, 37-year-old Samuel Keister Hairston, a resident of Spruce Street Extension, was arrested. He faces multiple charges, including possession of cocaine with intent to distribute (second offense), possession of a firearm while in possession of illegal narcotics, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Additionally, authorities have issued arrest warrants for 35-year-old Christopher Orlando Martin, a resident of Rives Road, charging him with possession with intent to distribute cocaine (third offense). Police are actively searching for Martin and urge the public to provide any information on his whereabouts.

The investigation, led by Lieutenant Eric Eggleston of the Martinsville Police Department, continues. Anyone with information about the case or Martin’s location is encouraged to contact Lt. Eggleston at 276-403-5300, 276-638-8751, or anonymously through the Crime Stoppers tip line at 276-63CRIME (276-632-7463). A reward of up to $2,500 is being offered for information leading to Martin’s arrest.

The Martinsville Police Department expressed its appreciation to the Henry County Sheriff’s Office and the Virginia State Police for their collaborative efforts in addressing crime in the area. This successful bust highlights the ongoing efforts by law enforcement agencies in Martinsville to combat illegal drug distribution and maintain community safety.
