Major Ali Arrested for ₦400,000 Bribe in Gunrunner Case

Major Ali has been arrested by the Operation Safe Haven (OPSH) for allegedly collecting ₦400,000 from the family of a detained gunrunner. According to a statement released on Saturday, August 9, 2025, by OPSH Media Information Officer Major Samson Nantip, Ali claimed he could influence the investigation and secure the suspect’s release.

The bribery scheme was reportedly discovered by OPSH operatives, prompting Ali’s immediate arrest.

OPSH emphasized in the statement that it does not accept any form of payment or gratification to release suspects or interfere with investigations. All cases, it stressed, are handled strictly in line with legal procedures.

The agency urged the public to remain alert to impostors who claim influence within security agencies and encouraged citizens to report such cases through its toll-free line or directly at OPSH headquarters in Jos.

Reaffirming its commitment to upholding justice, OPSH stated it will continue working closely with law enforcement agencies, community stakeholders, and law-abiding citizens to eliminate criminal activity within its jurisdiction.
