Jammu: Police in Jammu and Kashmir arrested six alleged drug peddlers in separate operations across Udhampur and Samba districts, seizing heroin from their possession.
In Udhampur district, Mahandeep Singh, Suresh Kumar, and Vikram Kumar were intercepted at different checkpoints, including Manwal Chowk in Majalta, Circular Road near Devika, and Gole Mela. Police recovered 10.27 grams of heroin from Singh, 1.54 grams from Suresh Kumar, and 5.74 grams from Vikram Kumar.
In another operation, Ram Puri and Dhananjay Partap were arrested from Ramnagar and Teli Bari in the Kud area. Officials said over 7 grams of heroin each was seized from their possession.
Meanwhile, in Samba district, police intercepted a motorcycle near Bhargava College and arrested Farman Ali, recovering 9.70 grams of heroin.
All six accused have been booked under relevant provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. Police said further investigation is underway to trace supply links and identify other individuals involved in the drug network.
