Mahalunge MIDC Police Arrest Four Gang Members for Robberies

by Ananya Mehta

The Mahalunge MIDC police have successfully apprehended four members of a gang involved in targeting industrial workers in the MIDC area. The arrests have led to the discovery of six cases of robbery and vehicle theft.

The arrested individuals — Krishna Saurate (19), Bhimrao Munde (21), Deepak Bhagat (24), and Hrishikesh Mali (21), all residents of Khed taluka — were taken into custody by a team led by Senior Inspector Nitin Gite. The police managed to recover a stolen autorickshaw and motorcycle, valued at Rs2.45 lakh.

The investigation was triggered after a Dehu resident, aged 31, reported an assault and robbery on March 11. The victim was attacked by a six-member gang, who stole his motorcycle and cellphone. Assistant Police Inspector Kalyan Ghagde revealed that the suspects were identified and tracked down by using the victim’s stolen cellphone.
