Madurai District Police have arrested two men in connection with the murder of a woman whose decomposed body was found in a secluded area along Echaneri Road, under Perungudi police station limits on March 4.
The accused have been identified as K. Chandrasekaran, 50, a tailor from Villapuram, and his friend G. Amarnath, 38, from Keeraithurai. During the investigation, police identified the deceased as N. Indrani, 70, a retired government employee from Villapuram.
Chandrasekaran had assisted Indrani in finding a rental house and often visited her whenever she sought his help.
Further details about the motive and circumstances of the murder are awaited as the investigation continues.
