MADISON, Ala. — Madison city leaders confirmed that a firefighter has been placed on administrative leave following his arrest on animal cruelty charges.
Huntsville Police charged 37-year-old Brandon Magill with animal cruelty on Wednesday. The city issued a statement expressing concern over the incident, emphasizing that the firefighter’s behavior is unacceptable and does not align with the values upheld by Madison Fire & Rescue (MF&R).
Magill, a captain with the department according to a post from Madison Fire & Rescue’s Facebook page, was placed on administrative leave while the city conducts a disciplinary investigation into the matter.
According to Madison County jail records, Magill was released later that same day.
