Nepal Police Arrest Madhav Shrestha with Rs 39.78 Lakh in Undisclosed Cash

KATHMANDU, Nepal — A 48-year-old man, identified as Madhav Shrestha, was arrested on Sunday afternoon in Kathmandu with Rs 39.78 lakh in cash of undisclosed origin. The arrest took place in Indrachowk, Kathmandu Metropolitan City-24, after Shrestha was found in possession of the substantial amount of money along with two mobile phones.

Arrest and Investigation
Shrestha, a resident of Bharatpur Metropolitan City-15 in Chitwan, and currently residing in Tokha, Kathmandu, was apprehended by a team from the Intelligence Branch of the Kathmandu Valley Police Office, Ranipokhari. Authorities have stated that further investigation is underway to trace the origin of the cash and to determine if there is any illegal activity tied to the funds.

The police continue their inquiry, focusing on uncovering the source of the large sum of money. Shrestha’s case is under active investigation.
