Luzerne County Woman Arrested for Glass Bottle Assault During Hillclimb Fight
Laurel Run, PA – A 22-year-old woman from Plains, Luzerne County, was arrested Saturday night after she allegedly struck a man with a glass bottle during a large fight, according to Pennsylvania State Police.
Authorities identified the suspect as Mackenzie Spock, who now faces charges including Aggravated Assault, Simple Assault, and Harassment.
The incident occurred around 9:30 p.m. on East Northampton Street during the Giants Despair Hillclimb. Police responded to the scene along with Wilkes-Barre Township officers after receiving reports of a violent altercation.
Following their investigation, troopers concluded that Spock hit a 24-year-old Hanover Township man over the head with a glass bottle. The attack caused serious injuries to the victim’s head, back, and left arm, requiring medical treatment at Geisinger Wyoming Valley.
Police also noted that Spock resisted arrest and failed to comply with multiple lawful commands.
She was unable to post $5,000 bail and remains in custody. Her preliminary hearing is scheduled for July 28.
Authorities have not yet released a motive for the altercation.
