In a tragic and shocking case from Kurumathoor near Taliparamba in Kannur, police have arrested M B Mubashira, the mother of a two-month-old boy, for allegedly murdering her infant son by throwing him into a well.
The baby, identified as Hamish Alan, son of Jabir of Pokkund, was found dead in a well near the family’s bathroom on Monday morning. Hearing the family’s cries, neighbors rushed to the spot, pulled the child out, and took him to Pariyaram Government Medical College Hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead.
Following an intimation from the hospital, the Taliparamba police launched an investigation and recorded statements from Mubashira and her family. Initially, she claimed that the baby slipped from her hands and fell into the well while she was preparing to bathe him.
