EDDYVILLE, Ky. — The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office released details of several arrests made between August 31 and September 5, including cases involving drug possession, theft, and outstanding bench warrants.
Princeton Woman Arrested After Suspicious Vehicle Report
On Sunday, August 31, Sheriff Brent White arrested Amanda D. Hammons, 42, of Princeton, after spotting a suspicious 2010 Volkswagen Jetta in Kuttawa around 3 p.m.
During a vehicle search, deputies discovered methamphetamine, marijuana, pills, and drug paraphernalia. Hammons also had two outstanding warrants.
She was charged with:
Possession of marijuana
First-degree possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine)
Second-degree possession of a controlled substance
Possession of drug paraphernalia
Contempt of court (Hopkins County)
Failure to appear (Shelby County bench warrant)
Hammons was booked into the Crittenden County Detention Center.
Marijuana Discovered During Vehicle Inspection
On Wednesday, September 3, Hannah L. Knight, 25, of Eddyville, visited the Sheriff’s Office for a vehicle inspection around 2:15 p.m.
During the process, deputies detected a strong odor of marijuana and observed numerous marijuana cigarettes inside the vehicle. Chief Deputy Sam Adams charged Knight with possession of marijuana.
Bench Warrants Served Throughout the Week
September 4: Chief Deputy Sam Adams served a Lyon District Court bench warrant on Justice M. Cordova, 31, of Salem, for failure to appear in a DUI-related case. Cordova remains in custody at the Crittenden County Detention Center.
September 5 (Morning): Jennifer Duff, 46, of Marion, was served a bench warrant for failure to appear on a traffic citation and a criminal summons from Crittenden District Court for theft by deception. She later posted bond and was released.
September 5 (Evening): Deputy Shannon Oliver served a Lyon Circuit Court bench warrant on James Martin, 35, formerly of Kuttawa, for probation violation tied to a felony wanton endangerment conviction. Martin had been extradited from New Hampshire and was lodged in the Crittenden County Detention Center.
Princeton Woman Charged in Scrap Metal Theft
Later that same day, around 2 p.m., deputies investigated a report of a suspicious vehicle behind a business on KY 293.
Chief Deputy Adams identified the driver as Emily Tucker, 52, of Princeton. The investigation revealed Tucker had previously visited the property while it was closed and stolen scrap metal that she later sold.
Tucker was charged with:
Third-degree criminal trespassing
Theft by unlawful taking ($500–$1,000)
