Luis Escobedo-Castaneda Arrested with Stolen Guns, Drugs

Keizer police find stolen firearms, psychedelics after burglary arrest

KEIZER, Ore. (KPTV) — A 25-year-old homeless man, Luis Angel Escobedo-Castaneda, was arrested this week in Keizer after police found him in possession of stolen firearms and psychedelic mushrooms, following a reported home burglary.

Escobedo-Castaneda was located behind Dutch Bros Coffee at 4915 River Rd. N. after a concerned citizen called in suspicious behavior. Officers responding to the scene searched him and discovered five guns, including four stolen that morning from a residence on Churchdale Ave. N.

In addition to the weapons, police said Escobedo-Castaneda had psychedelic mushrooms on him and appeared to be under the influence at the time of arrest.

He was booked into jail and faces multiple charges, including:

One count of Burglary in the First Degree

Four counts of Theft in the First Degree

One count of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm

One count of Possession of a Controlled Substance

The Keizer Police Department is continuing the investigation.
