Ludhiana Police Arrest Two in 30-Bike Theft Case

Gaurav Kumar and Ajay Kumar Held for Stolen Two-Wheelers

The special branch of Ludhiana Police Commissionerate arrested two individuals allegedly involved in the theft of at least 30 two-wheelers across the city. Police have so far recovered 10 stolen bikes, with investigations ongoing.

The accused have been identified as:

Gaurav Kumar alias Ganji (25) – Shaheed Bhagat Singh Colony

Ajay Kumar (27) – Kailash Nagar

Arrest and Confession

According to Inspector Beant Juneja, the arrests occurred near Sector 39, Chandigarh Road, when the duo was found riding a bike without proper documents. Under questioning, both admitted to stealing the vehicle.

Acting on their confession, police recovered nine additional stolen bikes from various locations.

Modus Operandi

Inspector Juneja revealed that the accused are drug addicts who stole vehicles to fund their habits. They reportedly operated in Samrala Chowk, Moti Nagar, and Rose Garden areas, using a master key to unlock bikes.

Both are already facing trials in multiple criminal cases. Police said further questioning will help trace other stolen vehicles and dismantle the network.

FIR and Legal Action

An FIR was registered under Sections 303(2) and 317(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita at Moti Nagar Police Station.

Authorities continue to investigate to identify any accomplices and recover all stolen bikes.
