Ludhiana Police Arrest Five in Fake Travel Agency Scam

Six Cases Registered Against Unlicensed Immigration Agents

Ludhiana police have cracked down on fraudulent travel agencies, arresting five individuals and registering six cases after inspecting 48 travel and immigration offices across Zone III of the commissionerate. The inspections covered areas under Divisions 5, 8, and Model Town police stations, authorities said.

According to Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police-III Ramandeep Singh Bhullar, of the 48 offices inspected, 25 were in Division 5, 12 in Division 8, and 11 in Model Town. “Six cases were registered against businesses operating without valid licences, leading to the arrest of five individuals,” he stated.

Arrests and Charges

Sukhwinder Singh (New Ashok Nagar, Salem Tabri) ran an unlicensed ACME Visa Solutions branch in Sarabha Nagar Market and allegedly deceived clients with false promises of overseas travel. He was charged under Section 318(4) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Immigration Act.

Karan Kumar (Kuldeep Nagar, Jodhewal) operated Garv Holidays Tours near Feroze Gandhi Market without a licence.

Gautam Handa (Tagore Nagar) ran Holiday Quest near Bhai Bala Chowk without proper authorisation and was booked under cheating and immigration offences.

Jasveer Singh (Garah village, Phillaur) ran SMR Immigration near Ishmeet Chowk illegally.

Mandeep Singh Batra (Model Town Extension) operated Dreamcan Immigration Consultancy in Tuition Market without a licence.

A sixth case was filed against unidentified individuals managing EDAD’s PTE-IELTS centre in Rara Market without valid documentation.
