Ryan Joseph Little Charged in $1,400 Berwick Golf Club Theft

Surveillance Footage Leads to Theft Charges Against Little

by Sophia Bennett

Berwick, Pa. — Ryan Joseph Little, 30, of Nescopeck, has been charged with theft after surveillance cameras caught him stealing $1,400 from the Berwick Golf Club in July.

According to Briar Creek Township police, Little was formally charged on August 21 with theft and related offenses. The investigation began after Gary Powlus reported the missing cash, which had been stored in a cigar box in a lower-level room of the clubhouse.

Police officer Graydon Beishline reviewed security footage that showed Little entering the clubhouse’s lower level late on July 13. He spent approximately 12 minutes inside before leaving with a trash bag that appeared partially full. The following night, Little was seen again inside the clubhouse performing cleaning duties.

At 11:18 p.m. on July 14, cameras recorded Little carrying an empty garbage bag downstairs and returning about four minutes later with the bag filled. The missing cash and cigar box were discovered the next morning.

Officer Beishline noted that Little was the only individual seen accessing the area during the timeframe when the theft occurred.

Little has been charged with misdemeanor theft and receiving stolen property. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for September 30 before District Judge Brenda Hess Williams.
