Aberdeen, NC – Loren McNeill, 19, of Aberdeen, is facing a series of felony charges after a breaking and entering incident that occurred in December 2024. McNeill has been charged with felony breaking and entering, felony larceny after breaking or entering, felony larceny of a motor vehicle, felony identity theft, and resisting a public officer. He was placed under a $40,500 secured bond at the Moore County Detention Center.
The investigation began on December 22, 2024, when the Aberdeen Police Department responded to a report of a break-in at a home located at Bradford Dr. and Woodgreen Drive. Upon arriving, investigators learned that the homeowner’s residence had been entered without consent. Stolen items included electronics, jewelry, a wallet containing bank cards, and car keys. Additionally, the homeowner’s vehicle was taken from the premises.
Aberdeen Police Chief Brian Chavis stated that authorities were able to verify the theft of the vehicle and gather crucial information through witness statements and electronic records related to the stolen bank cards. Four days later, on December 26, 2024, investigators successfully recovered the stolen vehicle.
On January 2, 2025, warrants were issued for McNeill’s arrest. He was apprehended by the Southern Pines Police Department on January 30, 2025.
McNeill is currently in custody at the Moore County Detention Center, where he faces a range of felony charges. The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities are continuing to assess the full extent of the criminal activity.
