ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — A 20-year-old man was arrested after crashing a stolen car tied to an armed robbery in Rockford and fleeing on foot.
On Saturday, June 14th, around 5:55 p.m., Rockford Police SCOPE officers attempted a traffic stop on Logan Nolan, who was driving a vehicle reported stolen and believed to be involved in an armed robbery earlier that day.
Officers tried to stop Nolan at South Main and Cedar Streets, but he fled. The pursuit ended when he crashed at Church and Jefferson Streets.
Nolan then ran from the scene but was apprehended shortly after by officers. Upon arrest, police found a loaded handgun and drugs in his possession.
Nolan faces multiple charges, including armed robbery, aggravated robbery, possession of a stolen vehicle, aggravated fleeing to elude, unlawful use of a weapon, resisting arrest, hit and run, and cannabis possession.
He was booked into the Winnebago County Jail and is awaiting a pretrial release hearing.
