SANTA CLARA, CA – A Livermore man, Gilberto David Nietoromo, 41, has been arrested on suspicion of sexually molesting a child, according to Santa Clara Police.
On March 10, Santa Clara Police Department officers began an investigation after meeting with the juvenile victim and their mother. Investigators allege that Nietoromo met the child via a social media site and later arranged to meet in person. The encounters reportedly took place in the Buchser Middle School parking lot in Santa Clara, where Nietoromo allegedly sexually assaulted the victim on two occasions.
On Thursday, Nietoromo was arrested near Industrial Way and South Vasco Road in Livermore. He was subsequently booked into Santa Clara County Main Jail on suspicion of seven felonies, including sexual assault, lewd and lascivious acts with a child under 14, false imprisonment, and arranging and going to a meeting with a minor. Additionally, he faces four misdemeanor charges, including sending harmful material with intent to seduce a minor, arranging meetings with a minor, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Nietoromo is being held without bail.
The investigation is ongoing, with detectives identifying at least one additional alleged victim in San Jose. Police are urging anyone with relevant information or who may have been victimized to come forward.
