LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) — A 50-year-old man from Lincoln ended up in jail after mistakenly trying to enter a police vehicle during what appeared to be a drug deal on Friday evening.

At around 5 p.m., investigators from the Lincoln Lancaster County Narcotics Task Force observed Thanh Ngo get out of a car in a convenience store parking lot near North 33rd and Holdrege streets. Ngo approached a police vehicle, attempting to get inside before realizing his mistake.

Officers continued to monitor Ngo as he walked a block away and interacted with two other men, moving between their vehicles. As they approached the group, officers noticed the strong smell of marijuana emanating from one of the cars.

This led to a search, where officers discovered bags of crack cocaine and cash inside the vehicle. Authorities also reported that Ngo swallowed some of the drugs as investigators moved in to make the arrest.

Ngo, along with the two other men, including the suspected drug dealer, 65-year-old Terry Bullard from Omaha, was arrested and taken to Lancaster County Jail.
