LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – A Lincoln couple, Ariel Iske (18) and Caleb Mitchell (21), were arrested Thursday after police discovered over four pounds of marijuana and 49 grams of mushrooms in their home.
The Lincoln/Lancaster County Narcotics Task Force served a search warrant Thursday evening at the couple’s residence near North 28th Street and Fletcher Avenue. Investigators allege that Iske and Mitchell were selling marijuana and mushrooms through an online Telegram store.
Prior to the search, authorities observed Iske conduct a hand-to-hand transaction of two THC vape cartridges to a known individual in a parking lot, according to the arrest affidavit.
During the search, police recovered:
Over four pounds of marijuana products
49 grams of mushrooms
$857 in cash
A Springfield Hellcat 9mm handgun loaded with 12 rounds
232 additional 9mm rounds
49 .22LR rounds
An HK MP5 .22 caliber rifle
Both Iske and Mitchell were charged with:
Two counts of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance
Two counts of possession of a firearm during a felony drug violation
Possession of money used to facilitate a drug deal
The couple is scheduled for arraignment Friday at 2 p.m. They could face up to 20 years in prison for each controlled substance charge.
