Lewis Dutton Sentenced to 20 Months for Multiple Burglaries

Lewis Dutton, a 31-year-old man from Runcorn, has been sentenced to 20 months in prison after pleading guilty to a series of burglary and theft charges. Dutton, previously known as a ‘professional criminal,’ has faced multiple court appearances for dishonesty-related offenses over the years.

The charges stem from incidents on May 29 of this year, during which Dutton attempted to steal personal items from a vehicle and successfully took a BBQ lighter from the same victim’s car. He also trespassed into Bank Chambers and a local shed with the intent to steal.

Prosecutor Joanne Moore detailed the crimes in Chester Crown Court, where the case was heard following Dutton’s guilty pleas. Judge Simon Berkson emphasized the necessity of an immediate prison term, given that the offenses occurred while Dutton was still under a suspended sentence.

As a result, Dutton was sentenced to 20 months in prison, reflecting the seriousness of his criminal behavior.
