FORT MYERS, FL – The Lee County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a man accused of an armed robbery that ended with an employee being shot in the hand.
Authorities say 46-year-old Levi Ross Jr. entered the Royal Arcade on South Cleveland Avenue on Saturday, wearing a mask and brandishing a firearm. During the robbery, Ross allegedly demanded money from an employee before shooting the individual in the hand and fleeing the scene.
The victim was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Following the robbery, deputies tracked Ross through the Pine Manor neighborhood. After a short foot chase, deputies used a Taser to subdue him and took him into custody. The firearm used in the robbery was recovered from a nearby business.
Ross Jr., a convicted felon, now faces multiple charges, including:
Robbery with a firearm
Aggravated battery with a deadly weapon
Shooting within an occupied building
Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon
Providing false ID to law enforcement
Resisting an officer without violence
He is currently being held as the investigation continues.
