Leon Boutte, Jeremiah Robertson Arrested in Grand Coteau Heroin Sting

Two Lafayette men charged with heroin distribution, gun possession

GRAND COTEAU, La. — Two men from Lafayette were arrested in connection with an undercover heroin operation in Grand Coteau, according to St. Landry Parish authorities.

Leon Boutte, 20, and Jeremiah Robertson, 24, each face charges of possession with intent to distribute heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia. Additionally, Boutte is charged with possession of a firearm in the presence of drugs.

St. Landry Parish Sheriff Bobby Guidroz explained that undercover detectives arranged to purchase one ounce of heroin from Boutte for $1,200. Officers apprehended Boutte and Robertson without incident at the meeting location.

During the arrest, officers found a 9mm handgun concealed in Boutte’s waistband, officials reported.

Bond information for both suspects has not been made public.
