ASHEBORO, N.C. – A Randolph County man is facing multiple felony charges after deputies say he was caught in the act of assaulting a juvenile.
On June 1, 2025, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of an assault in progress on Steele Street in Asheboro. When deputies arrived at the scene, they witnessed a juvenile being actively assaulted.
The suspect, later identified as Leomin Bolaina-Parez, was detained without further incident. Emergency Medical Services (EMS) also responded and transported the injured juvenile to a local hospital for medical evaluation.
Following an investigation, Bolaina-Parez was arrested and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center. The magistrate found probable cause for felony assault inflicting serious injury and felony child abuse causing serious bodily injury.
He was issued a $350,000 secured bond, and his first court appearance was scheduled for June 2, 2025, in Randolph County District Court.
The condition of the juvenile victim has not been released, and authorities have not disclosed the relationship between the suspect and the child. The investigation is ongoing.
