HAMMOND — The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office (TPSO) has arrested 18-year-old Laterrious “Bezo” Braziel in connection with multiple gun-related crimes spanning the last three months.
Braziel faces charges including Aggravated Assault by Drive-By, Armed Robbery, Attempted 2nd Degree Murder, Illegal Discharge of a Weapon, and Aggravated Criminal Damage.
The investigation began on July 20 after reports of gunfire in the Mashon Road area of Independence, which struck a car and a house but caused no injuries. On August 25, TPSO received a report of a gaming device stolen at gunpoint from a home on Happywoods Road in Hammond. Detectives linked Braziel to both incidents.
On September 17, TPSO responded to another report of a man being shot at while driving down Baker Lane in Hammond. Although the victim was unharmed, Braziel was quickly identified as the suspect, resulting in an additional arrest warrant.
On September 24, Braziel was taken into custody at a relative’s home without incident.
The TPSO thanked the community for its cooperation throughout the investigation.
