SPRING HILL, TN — A second teenager has been arrested in connection with the June 6 shooting that injured a sleeping infant in Spring Hill.
La’Taveious Lee, 18, of Columbia, was taken into custody in Clarksville on Monday. He faces one count of reckless endangerment with a dangerous weapon and another for firing into an unoccupied residence, according to police.
Lee is the second suspect arrested following the incident. A 17-year-old male was previously arrested on June 12, though his identity remains sealed as he is being charged as a juvenile. That could change if the case is transferred to adult court.
Authorities said the shooting occurred during a narcotics transaction that escalated into an exchange of gunfire between multiple individuals. Investigators emphasized that the baby, who was struck while sleeping, was not the intended target.
Court documents from Maury County General Sessions Court indicate that Lee was caught on surveillance video firing a handgun toward an unoccupied home on Shandor Street, which was also hit during the shooting. A shell casing was recovered near the area where Lee allegedly fired.
The investigation remains ongoing.
