Laramie County Mail Carrier Louis Hall Arrested for Fraud

Mail Fraud Investigation Leads to Louis Hall’s Arrest

by Sophia Bennett

On November 11, 2024, at around 12:08 PM, the Laramie County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of mail fraud in the 2300 block of Bridger Drive. The investigation led Corporal Moniz to the Menards store in Cheyenne, where store security provided photos and video of a suspect using stolen rebate checks. In the footage, Cpl. Moniz saw the suspect returning to a white rural mail carrier van.

To identify the suspect, Cpl. Moniz took the images to a local United States Postal Service facility. Postal staff confirmed that the suspect was Louis Hall, a mail carrier.

An arrest warrant for Hall was issued, and on November 30, 2024, he was arrested. Deputies also obtained a search warrant for Hall’s home, where they uncovered boxes of mail with postdates spanning several years, along with items that had been purchased illegally.

Deputies are continuing their investigation in collaboration with postal inspectors from the Denver Field Office.

As always, all suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
