GUNTER, TX — One person has been arrested following a two-month investigation by Gunter Police into the alleged misuse of funds tied to a local church.
While police have not publicly named the suspect, jail records confirm the arrest of Lara Martin on theft charges Thursday morning.
The investigation reportedly centers around fraudulent expenditures and misused funds from an account affiliated with a church in Gunter. Although law enforcement has not confirmed which church, the website FaithLife lists Lara Martin as a group administrator for Grace Bible Fellowship in Gunter.
Martin bonded out of jail on Friday. Gunter Police have not yet released further details about the nature or scope of the alleged financial misconduct.
