Lamora Williams, 24, has been sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole, plus an additional 35 years, after being convicted for the horrific deaths of her two young sons in 2017. Williams was found guilty of killing 1-year-old Ja’Karter Penn and 2-year-old Ke’Yaunte Penn by placing them in an oven and turning it on.
Williams initially called 911 to report the deaths, telling the operator that she found her sons’ bodies after returning home from work. She claimed to have left them with a caregiver, only to return to find them dead. However, autopsy reports revealed that the children’s deaths were caused by prolonged exposure to heat from the oven, indicating a deliberate and intentional act.
Despite Williams’ attempts to claim innocence, authorities determined she had “knowingly and intentionally” killed her children. The tragic event led to charges including four counts of murder, aggravated assault, and concealing the deaths. Following her conviction, she was sentenced on Friday to life in prison without parole, marking the end of a case that shocked the nation.
