Lamitan Police Arrest Two Suspects in Motorcycle Theft

Stolen motorcycle recovered hours after the incident

LAMITAN CITY, Basilan — Policemen of Lamitan City have arrested two suspects in separate operations just hours after a motorcycle theft, an official said Monday, November 10, 2025.

Police Chief Lieutenant Colonel Elmer Solon identified the arrested suspects as alias Kidlat, 19, and alias Anami, 27, both residents of Maluso town, Basilan.

Kidlat was arrested around 2 p.m. Saturday, November 8, in a follow-up operation in Balagtasan village, Lamitan City. His accomplice, Anami, was apprehended around 5 p.m. the same day in Fuente village, Maluso.

The theft was reported by Dodong Pakaral, 46, an Indigenous People’s representative of Limo-ok village, who said his motorcycle was stolen around 8 a.m. Saturday.

Following the report, Lamitan City police launched coordinated operations with other units, which led to the suspects’ arrests. The stolen motorcycle was recovered later that day in Cabunbata village, Isabela City, the capital of Basilan.

The suspects are currently detained pending filing of appropriate charges.
