JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ala. — A significant drug and weapons bust in Ensley has resulted in the arrest of 25-year-old Lamar Kevontay Slaughter III, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.
On April 16, 2025, the Sheriff’s Narcotics Division, along with the Neighborhood Enforcement Team, executed a search warrant in the 2000 block of Avenue B. As officers approached, Slaughter attempted to flee the scene but was apprehended without incident.
The search yielded a substantial haul, including:
4.43 pounds (2,008 grams) of methamphetamine
10.8 grams of fentanyl
6.1 grams of marijuana products
$3,595 in cash
Authorities also confiscated a cache of illegal firearms, including:
Two AR15 pistols
Glock 23 with an illegal automatic “Switch”
Glock 21 pistol
Emperor Arms AR 12-gauge shotgun
Sheriff Mark Pettway praised the operation, saying,
“This was another good day. Dangerous narcotics and weapons were taken off the streets of Jefferson County. The Jefferson Sheriff’s Office is working hard to keep our citizens safe. I am especially thankful that no one was injured.”
Slaughter faces drug trafficking charges and is currently being held without bond at the Jefferson County Jail.
