The Thalaghattapura Police have cracked a major burglary case with the arrest of five Nepali nationals who allegedly broke into a house in JHBCS Layout, Gubbalala, and stole valuables worth Rs50 lakh.
The accused were identified as:
Lal Bahadur Bohara (48)
Kamal Bahadur Chalouni (34)
Kiran Bohara (23)
Netra Bahadur Chalouni (42)
Rajesh Bahadur Saha (35)
According to Police Commissioner B. Dayananda, the stolen property included 502 grams of gold, 4.5 kg of silver, diamond jewellery, and two mobile phones. The accused were working as daily wage labourers in hotels and other establishments across the city.
Investigators tracked the gang based on local intelligence and surveillance, eventually recovering the stolen items and apprehending the suspects. All five have been taken into custody, and further inquiry is underway to determine if they are linked to other similar cases in the city.
