Lacosta Marie Mortenson, 35, was in Pierce County Superior Court on Thursday, facing serious charges after allegedly using a kink website to lure men under the guise of a sexual encounter, only to rob them at gunpoint.
Investigators in both King and Pierce counties report that Mortenson connected with her victims through the website FetLife. She arranged meetings at hotels in Tacoma, bringing a loaded revolver to the rendezvous. Once there, she would pull out the gun, rob her victims of their wallets and credit cards, and commit fraud.
The first robbery took place in September when she targeted a member of the military, taking his wallet containing his military ID and travel card. In October, Mortenson allegedly attempted to zip-tie another victim, leaving him in a bathroom while she stole his credit card and made fraudulent purchases.
Mortenson is also linked to a similar robbery in Kent. Surveillance footage from a hotel and a previous police encounter in July helped authorities confirm her identity.
She pleaded not guilty to the charges, and her bail was set at $100,000.
