Florida Woman Arrested for Selling Human Bones on Facebook Marketplace
Authorities in Florida have arrested 52-year-old Kymberlee Anne Schopper after she was accused of illegally selling human bones through Facebook Marketplace. Schopper, who owns a business called Wicked Wonderland in Orange City, was taken into custody on Thursday, but was released the following day after posting a $7,500 bond.
The investigation into Schopper’s illegal activities began in December 2023 after law enforcement received a report linking her business to the sale of human skeletal remains. The investigation revealed that Schopper was selling a variety of bones, including ribs, collarbones (clavicles), vertebrae, and skull fragments.
Schopper allegedly used her Facebook Marketplace account to advertise the bones, claiming that they were “delicate” and obtained from “private sellers.” She reportedly offered the remains for sale with specific price tags, including $35 for vertebrae and ribs, $90 for clavicles and skull fragments, and $600 for partial skulls.
During a police operation, authorities seized all of the skeletal remains from Schopper’s business. When questioned, Schopper claimed she was unaware that selling human bones was illegal in Florida, despite having documentation for her transactions, which she could not immediately provide.
Schopper now faces charges related to the trafficking of human skeletal remains.
