A 40-year-old woman, Renuka, was allegedly stabbed to death by her lover in eastern Bengaluru, police said. Renuka, a resident of Pillanna Garden in KG Halli, had been in a relationship with Kutti (43), who works at a finance firm and lives nearby. The two became close after Renuka’s divorce.
Renuka, who worked as a house help, had reportedly urged Kutti to marry her so their relationship could be made public. However, Kutti refused.
On October 31, Kutti called Renuka while she was returning from work and asked her to meet him near a government school in Pillanna Garden. During the meeting, an argument over marriage escalated, and in a fit of rage, Kutti allegedly stabbed Renuka in front of bystanders before fleeing. She later succumbed to her injuries at the hospital.
The KG Halli police registered a murder case and have arrested Kutti.
