A 28-year-old man from Kuruvimedu has been arrested by Thoothukudi South police for allegedly beating a woman, Jeba Violet (28), to death with a wooden log.
According to police, Jeba Violet, a resident of Pandaravilai near Eral, had recently met P. Marikani (25) from Kuruvimedu at a park in Thoothukudi. The two became acquainted and reportedly grew closer over the next few days. On Wednesday, Marikani invited Jeba Violet to his house, where they consumed alcohol.
The incident took a tragic turn when Marikani allegedly assaulted Jeba Violet with a wooden log, leading to her death. Police have taken him into custody and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the attack.
