Kristofer Nasife Arrested in Gillette Car Theft Case

Meth and THC found during investigation into stolen car

by Sophia Bennett

GILLETTE, Wyo. — Kristofer Nasife is facing multiple felony charges following an investigation into a stolen vehicle and the discovery of controlled substances, according to court records.

Nasife was arrested Jan. 27 in connection with the theft of a 2007 silver Honda Accord from the Albertsons parking lot two days earlier. The owner told police she had left the car running and unlocked. Using Apple AirPods left inside the vehicle, the owner tracked it first near Oregon Avenue and later at the Campbell County Landfill, helping officers locate the car.

Surveillance video from Albertsons showed a dark green Chevrolet Silverado pull up next to the Honda, with a woman exiting the truck, covering her face with a hoodie, and driving off in the stolen vehicle. The Silverado, registered to another person, was later linked to Nasife, who was still making payments on it.

When questioned, Nasife gave conflicting accounts of the woman in the video, stating she was either a passenger he drove to the store or his girlfriend. Authorities said his girlfriend was already in custody in Natrona County at the time of his arrest.

A search of Nasife’s apartment uncovered a suspected meth pipe with crystalline residue, a jeweler’s bag with residue, several clean baggies, and multiple suspected THC vape pens.

Nasife is charged with conspiracy to commit felony theft over $1,000, possession of a controlled substance in crystalline form, and possession of a controlled substance in plant form. He is presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
