Hirakud police have arrested three more accused in connection with the brutal murder of history-sheeter Kalu Bahadur on November 3. The new arrestees have been identified as Krish Behera (20) and Om Behera (22), both from Sub-stationpada, and Bishal Mahanand (20) of Bandhpada, Hirakud.
Investigations revealed that the trio tracked Kalu’s movements on the day of the attack through mobile communication with co-accused Samir Behera. Based on evidence, all three were taken into custody.
Earlier, seven accused had already been arrested in connection with the case. Kalu Bahadur was attacked near Durgamandir Chowk with swords, batons, knives, and blades while traveling with his friend Satyaranjan Dhala, who survived with injuries.
Police have seized three mobile phones that were reportedly used to coordinate the crime. Investigations are ongoing to determine the full extent of the conspiracy.
