Kortland Bryant, 29, from Portage, Indiana, was arrested on June 9 for first-degree murder in connection with a fatal stabbing that occurred on Chicago’s South Side last summer.
The incident took place on August 8, 2024, in the 8000 block of South Marshfield Avenue, where a 59-year-old man died from stab wounds, according to Chicago Police Department (CPD).
Bryant was taken into custody in the 16500 block of South Kedzie Avenue in Markham after being identified as a suspect.
He faces one felony count of first-degree murder. A detention hearing is scheduled for June 12.
