MILTON KEYNES, UK — A trusted employee who stole £1 million worth of car parts from his employer over two years has been jailed after being caught selling the stolen goods on eBay.
Konrad Labinski, 41, of Padstowe Avenue, Milton Keynes, worked at a car parts distribution centre for over 20 years before his theft was discovered earlier this year.
On March 4, 2025, management reported missing stock to police after linking an eBay account to ongoing losses. When investigators traced the account, they discovered it was operated by Labinski.
Police arrested him at work on March 7, catching him in the act of stealing additional parts. A subsequent search of his home uncovered more than 1,000 stolen car parts valued at around £1 million.
Labinski refused to comment during interviews but pleaded guilty to theft by employee on April 25.
Detective Constable Vince Higgins of Milton Keynes CID said the swift investigation allowed officers to recover and return all stolen items.
“He had been working for the company for over 20 years and abused the trust given to him. He’s gone from having a well-paid job with company perks to being unemployed and in prison,” Higgins said.
Labinski was remanded immediately, reflecting the court’s stance on the seriousness of employee theft.
Police hope the case serves as a warning about the severe consequences of workplace dishonesty
