Kohima Police Arrest Four for Multi-Year Scrap Theft

Rs 4 lakh materials stolen from Zubza business site

Kohima Police personnel from Sechü (Zubza) Police Station arrested four repeat offenders on June 10, 2025, in connection with multiple theft cases reported over the past three years.

According to Kohima Police PRO, the accused were involved in the systematic theft of scrap materials, automobile parts, engine components, batteries, and iron materials from a business establishment at the Old KMC dumping site since 2023. They were also accused of stealing iron materials belonging to NHIDCL, intended for the ongoing four-lane highway project at Zubza. The stolen items are valued at approximately Rs 4 lakh.

The arrested individuals have been identified as:

Throngso Khiung Yim (28) – Shamator, currently at Lower Bayavü, Kohima

Thoungaolou (21) – Tadubi, Senapati, Manipur, residing at Kezekie Colony, Kohima

Khriesietuo Dzuvichü (25) – DBS, Kohima

Ruokuozhao Semou (20) – Chiephobozou, residing at Bayavü Colony, Kohima

A regular case has been registered, and investigations are ongoing to trace further accomplices and recover additional stolen items.
