Phuket, Thailand – A man was arrested after allegedly threatening a taxi driver near Mae Somchit Kata Fresh Market, only for police to discover he was carrying a pen gun and crystal meth.

Incident and Arrest
At 6 PM on Monday, March 10, Wichit Police received a report of a man menacing a taxi driver with a concealed weapon on Kata Road. Responding swiftly, officers intercepted a white Mazda2 at a red light near the market and identified the suspect as Kittikorn “Toey” Chanmath.

Discovery of Weapon and Drugs
During a search, police found:

A pen gun loaded with a .22-caliber bullet in his left shorts pocket.
A plastic bag containing crystal meth (Ice) inside the vehicle.
Criminal History and Charges
A background check revealed that Kittikorn had a prior drug-related conviction in 2018 at Thung Song Police Station in Nakhon Si Thammarat. A urine test confirmed traces of meth in his system.

He now faces multiple charges, including:
✅ Illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition
✅ Carrying a firearm in public without permission
✅ Illegal possession of Category 1 narcotics (crystal meth)

Investigation Continues
Interestingly, the Karon Police report did not mention the alleged threat to the taxi driver, leaving questions about whether additional charges could be filed. Authorities continue their investigation amid growing concerns over illicit firearms and drug-related confrontations in Phuket.
