Kitbok Thabah, Daniel Syiemlieh Arrested in Shillong Theft

Two men held for assault and phone snatching in Golflinks

Shillong police have arrested two men for their alleged involvement in an assault and mobile phone snatching incident in the Golflinks area on Tuesday.

According to Pasteur Beat House, the arrests followed an FIR lodged on January 22. The complaint stated that on January 21, around 6:30 PM, two pedestrians were assaulted, and their mobile phones were snatched by riders on a two-wheeler near the CM Connect building.

The accused, Kitbok Thabah alias Koi (29) and Daniel Syiemlieh (23), were apprehended from Golflinks Khliehshnong and Nongmynsong Dongkamon, respectively, confirmed East Khasi Hills SP Vivek Syiem.

Police recovered the stolen mobile phones and seized the scooter used in the crime. The case is under investigation at Sadar Police Station under sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

Officials said further inquiry is ongoing to determine if the accused were involved in other similar incidents in the area.
