Shillong Police have arrested two men in connection with an assault and mobile phone snatching incident in the Golflinks area. The arrests follow a complaint filed at Pasteur Beat House on January 22, regarding an incident that occurred the previous evening.
According to the FIR, on January 21 at around 6:30 pm, two pedestrians were assaulted and their mobile phones snatched by two-wheeler riders near the CM Connect building in Golflinks.
The accused were identified as Kitbok Thabah alias Koi (29) and Daniel Syiemlieh (23). Kitbok was apprehended from Golflinks Khliehshnong, while Daniel was arrested in Nongmynsong Dongkamon, said East Khasi Hills SP Vivek Syiem.
Police successfully recovered the stolen mobile phones and seized the scooter used in the crime. A case has been registered at Sadar police station under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, and the investigation is ongoing.
