POLK COUNTY, Fla. – A Kissimmee couple has been arrested and charged in connection with a string of residential burglaries that took place in the Poinciana area between mid-April and early May 2025.
The Polk County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO) arrested Trenton Michael Watkins, 41, and Rachel Marie Perez, 39, on Wednesday, May 6, after a traffic stop revealed the couple’s involvement in multiple home burglaries.
Deputies stopped a white Ford Escape that was believed to have been used by the suspects in the burglaries. Perez, who was driving the vehicle, was found to be operating it without a valid driver’s license or motor vehicle insurance. During the stop, deputies also discovered methamphetamine inside the car, prompting further investigation.
According to the sheriff’s office, the investigation revealed that Watkins and Perez allegedly targeted residential properties in the Poinciana area between April 18 and May 5, stealing several appliances and then selling them. Detectives have successfully recovered some of the stolen items, while efforts continue to track down and return the remaining property.
Trenton Michael Watkins has been charged with the following offenses:
Four counts of Burglary of a Residence
Four counts of Grand Theft from a Dwelling
Dealing in Stolen Property
Four counts of Conspiracy to Commit Burglary
False Owner Information to a Pawnshop
Four counts of Traveling Across County Lines in Commission of a Crime
Violation of Probation (VOP)
Possession of Methamphetamine
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Rachel Marie Perez has been charged with:
Burglary of a Residence
Grand Theft from a Dwelling
Dealing in Stolen Property
Conspiracy to Commit Burglary
Traveling Across County Lines in Commission of a Crime
Driving While License Suspended or Revoked (DWLSR)
Possession of Methamphetamine
Both suspects are currently being held at the Polk County Jail. The investigation remains ongoing as authorities continue to recover stolen items and pursue additional leads.
